The Australian International School Malaysia (AISM) is located in the exclusive Mines Resort City in Seri Kembangan and it is the first and only fully Australian School in Malaysia. Since its establishment in year 2000, AISM has grown to a population of 560 students ranging from Preparation (age 3) to Year 12 (age 18).
The School is currently undergoing significant growth and development, and will have an enrolment of 1000 students within the next 5 years. As a vibrant and growing school, AISM seeks enthusiastic and qualified candidate for the following positions:
School Nurse
Selangor – Seri Kembangan Vacancy 2012
Responsibilities:
The School Nurse position supports students in an international school setting to advance the physical, mental and social wellbeing of the student and reports to the Assistant Principal on a day to day basis.
This is a part time position for 20 hours per week in addition to our existing full time school nurse.
Dealing with the minor injuries that are an everyday occurrence in a school with students ranging in age from 3 years old to 18 years old,
Providing primary care to students with major injuries before arranging for an ambulance to take them to hospital,
Administering medication to those students who require permanent medication,
Liaising with parents regarding their children’s illnesses,
Consulting with staff and parents regarding health problems relating to particular students and health issues in the school in general,
Attend school sports events after school and on some Saturdays as the First Aid Officer,
Liaise with the Ministry of Health where necessary.
Requirements:
Possess a minimum Diploma/Degree of Nursing Practice
Possess Annual Nursing Practicing Certificate
Minimum 3-5 years of relevant working experience, preferably in the education industry
Experience working in a school environment is an added advantage
Fluent in spoken and written English and Bahasa Malaysia
Good interpersonal skills when working with students, parents and staff
