1. CORPORATE COMMERCIAL ASSOCIATE
Duties & Responsibilities
- 3-5 years post admission experience
- Substantial experience of legal work arising from or relating to mergers & acquisitions (M&A), incorporated and unincorporated joint ventures, equity capital markets, real estate, corporate or securities laws and general commercial work including legal due diligence and drafting/review of transaction documents in the context of M&A and equity capital markets transactions
- Familiar with all phases and elements of transactional work in relation to mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and equity capital markets
- Familiar with the drafting/reviewing of commercial contracts and providing legal and regulatory advice relating to laws and regulations affecting major sectors of the Malaysian economy
Requirements
- Post admission working experience obtained at a corporate, commercial or real estate practice of a major commercial law firm in Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, London or Hong Kong
- Proficiency in verbal and drafting skills in Mandarin is an advantage
2. COMPETITION LAW ASSOCIATE
Duties & Responsibilities
- 4-6 years post admission experience
- Advising and counseling clients on competition law in relation to all aspects of corporate and commercial transactions, agreements and arrangements
- Assisting clients in audits and reviews of their businesses and practices for compliance with competition law
- Delivery of training on competition law to clients and to lawyers and staff within the firm
- Preparing guidelines, notes, memoranda, precedents, written presentations and other material related to competition law
- Assist the partner in business development and promotional efforts in the practice area of competition law
- Rendering advice on general commercial law and providing legal and regulatory advice on legal issues affecting major sectors of the Malaysian economy
- Able to act as a corporate and commercial lawyer and advise on a wide range of corporate and commercial transactions
Requirements
- Significant experience and expertise gained from practising competition law
- Malaysians who have practiced and obtained substantial experience in competition law abroad and intending to return to Malaysia will be considered very favourably
- A self starter who is able to work independently while under the overall supervision of a partner
3. FINANCE & PROJECTS ASSOCIATE
Duties & Responsibilities
- 2-3 years of ìhands on” transactional experience ideally gained in a similar environment. Experience in one or more of the following areas will be highly regarded:
- Islamic finance and debt capital markets;
- General corporate banking;
- Acquisition finance; and
- Project or construction finance.
- Experience in a private practice in which clients consist of major banks or borrowers
Requirements
- Ideally the candidate comes from a similar firm environment, where they have developed or have the potential to develop, very strong technical, drafting, client relationship and commercial skills
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team
Requirements for all positions
- Good academic results from a well regarded university
- Strong verbal and drafting skills in English
- Possess an outgoing personality and leadership qualities
- Clear demonstration of ability to work in a team
- Candidates must be willing to work in Kuala Lumpur
- Willing to travel
- Candidates should be Malaysian citizens or hold relevant residence status only
