Quality Supervisor, BO Chargeman Vacancy in Port Dickson 2012


Cabot Materials Research Sdn. Bhd., is a wholly owned entity of Cabot Corporation that makes Cabot Elastomer Composites for speciality applications.
Our Port Dickson facility is looking for result-orientated individuals to join US and help drive continuous improvements through process operability and business systems. Applications are invited from suitably qualified applicants for the following positions.

Quality Supervisor
Responsibilities:
- Supervise day-to-day activities of the Quality laboratory, and ensure analysis of raw material, in-process, and finished material is accurately and efficiently conducted in accordance with Company’s quality standards and produce high quality test results that meet customer expectations of timeliness and accuracy as well as ensure current methods are being used by all personnel to help reduce test variations
- Organize daily laboratory activities with the utmost priority on safety
- Organize workforce to ensure maximum productivity by providing necessary planning, training and supervision
- Contribute towards overall quality by continuous monitoring of quality levels and through close cooperation with manufacturing management, and recommend improvements to standard procedures
- Manage staffing, shifts and work assignments as appropriate to meet work demands and budget constraints
- Ensure proper and on-time maintenance and calibration of the lab equipment, research and propose new equipment that can improve accuracy and efficiency
- Ensure appropriate documentation and reporting of procedures and test results
- Contribute through analytical work to the resolution of customer complaints
- Effectively practice Performance Based Management by coaching and developing employees, direct as well as matrix reports, assuring effective alignment with Company’s objectives.

Requirements:
- Degree in a technical discipline with minimum 3 years’ relevant experience; OR high school certificate with minimum 5 years’ relevant experience. Fresh graduates are also encouraged to apply
- Knowledge of QA/QC testing procedures and techniques, laboratory procedures and equipment and Statistical Process Control
- Understand product uniformity/variation
- Knowledgeable in safe laboratory equipment use, calibration and maintenance as well as Laboratory Management Systems (LIMS), material safety data sheets and ISO compliance
- Safety mindset with knowledge of accident/near-miss investigation/ reporting procedures
- Accuracy/Attention to detail with problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to gather, analyse and draw well-reasoned conclusions.

BO Chargeman
Responsibilities:
- In charge of maintenance of CMR MCC and 11KV switch Gear Room
- Responsible for the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical & instrument
- Do the Management for Doing the Planning for the Maintenance Department
- Attend to all power and machine failure/short/trip and rectify promptly
- Supervise the work of Technicians and Contractors and ensure safety regulations are complied with in carrying out their duties
- Conduct monitoring, trending and tracking of the machine as well as initiate preventive maintenance to prevent or minimize equipment breakdown and power failure
- Ensure working place is always neat, tidy, clean and safe
- Identify, diagnose faults and recommend accurate and effective repair solutions.

Requirements:
- Minimum Certificate in Electrical & Instrument and possess Chargeman BO Certificate, registered with Suruhajaya Tenaga
- Hands-on experience in field job & troubleshooting
- Good command of Bahasa Malaysia and English
- Able to be Team Leader for E&I crew
- Able to work with minimum supervision and willing to work overtime if required
- Strong leadership skills and able to supervise and motivate team
- Must be PC literate
- Preferably male
